Will I be qualified to teach in a regular classroom as well as online?
Yes, if you study on the online version of the course you get exactly the same certificate as you would get on the face-to-face course. Every part of the course looks at both online and classroom-based delivery, and you will have plenty of opportunities to observe real classes given by experienced teachers.
Do I need to know how to host Zoom meetings and use online resources?
No, we will teach you everything you need to know, and give you support whenever you need it. The first week of the course is a gentle introduction to online teaching, when you can practise with your peers before teaching real students.
Will I have the chance to practise with real students?
Yes, 6 hours’ practical teaching experience is part of the course. The students come from a wide range of backgrounds and you will get to know them well during the course.
Will I feel isolated if I study online?
No, don’t worry about this. Our groups are small and friendly and you will get lots of support from your tutors and classmates.
How much work is involved?
The course is rather intense, but we have built in ample self-study time to enable you to meet your assignment deadlines.
How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed though a blend of teaching practice and written assignments.
